WEEKEND CLASSES/COURSES IN MEDITATION
Weekend or longer courses for beginners and intermediate students to Meditation will be held at Chaitanya School Of Yoga in Tableview. For people with little or no previous experience of meditation these courses provide a structured introduction, as well as strong methods in cleansing, energizing and concentrating the mind. They also provide an opportunity for people who have done other forms of meditation to explore the particular breathing mindfulness technique, with opportunities for discussion and individual progressive guidance.
The weekend courses include group practices, individual practice time for Sitting and Walking Meditation, Mantra Meditation, Dharana and Trataka, discussion, and one-to-one consultations with the teachers, regarding obstacles in reaching meditative states and methods of eliminating them, as well as giving new and higher directions for intermediate and advanced students in meditation. for people with little or no previous experience of meditation .This workshop will provide a structured introduction, as well as strong methods in cleansing, energizing and concentrating the mind . Our workshop will be on the 29 October , however, it will be an introduction to Meditation as opposed to a full blown workshop like we have had in the past . This will result in a cheaper price for ALL , and the whole aim is to continue the classes on an on going basis , creating a regular group , which will come together weekly or bi weekly in the weeks and months to come . Yoga Teacher Tips for Scorpion Pose
You need to build up arm strength and back flexibility before performing these kind of postures in class. If practitioners are practicing in a class without a wall they will be falling over. Even with a wall the back is vulnerable because of the force and weight of the legs. This pose should be done only in advanced classes. Instructions: 1. From Forearm Stand, ( or Shirshasana ) bend the knees. 2. Lift your head and bring your feet close to your head as you come in to a deep backbend. The knees will separate, but keep the toes together. Beginners: True beginners should not attempt this pose, as should not attempt Shirshasana. If you are comfortable doing Forearm Stand at the wall, try moving yourself a little bit farther from the wall. Then walk your feet down the wall toward your head. Advanced: Bring your feet close to your head. Remain in the final position for 15-20 seconds and return to the child pose position, rest keeping your head down for 1 minute before to stand up, breathing deep and long, but gently.
